Turkey Trotting

Berwick, PA: Kieran Sutton competed at the 109th annual Run for the Diamonds. This historic 9-mile race has been held in Berwick every year since 1908 with the exception of 1918 and 1919. The race is known for its unique awards which, as one may guess, are diamonds. The top 7 male finishers are given diamond rings. Top 7 females receive diamond pendants. Kieran ran plenty fast to secure a ring with his 47:23 finish (5:15 pace) which was good for third overall. Nice work!

Webster, NY: Chris Mateer ran in his hometown's 45th annual Webster Turkey Trot. Wind and cold temperatures made this race less enjoyable for Chris than previous years. Even so, he managed 2nd overall with a time of 22:13. Hope some sort of warm food or drink was given as a prize!

Jackson, NJ: Geoff Barletta ran an exciting race at the Marc Castellano Turkey Trot which covered much of his old high school cross country course. Geoff originally believed he'd Pr'd in the 5k until it was discovered the distance was a bit short. Geoff has had a great season. We hear Haddonfield is a great place to PR in the 5k!

New Cumberland, PA: Kevin Brandon ran the SMT Turkey Trot. He was unsure if he'd make it to the start line healthy enough to race (after missing the Philly Half with IT issues). Kevin was very happy to race but his 17:25 5k sadly placed him outside of the awards (pie!) for the first time in years.

Pittsburgh, PA: Ethan Hermann ran the very hilly Gutbuster just one week after finishing his first half marathon. Racing so soon to the half was remarkable, as was his 4th place finish in 55:22. Congrats!
