PRTC Weekly: 07/23/2018 Reminders, Results, and More

2 Reminders and a Request

Philly 10k: See  our "member" email list for info about signing up for this race. We have a deadline of July 27th. Reply to this email if any questions.

Mayor's Cup: Registration is still open for Mayor's Cup. Our club password is BullsEyeRed. I've updated our google tracking sheet here to show who has actually signed up. If your name is in red, this means you have not signed up, but indicated you wanted to run a specific event. Let us know if we need to find alternative coverage!

Website: Help us keep our new website up to date by completing our roster survey here! We'd like to show everyone's most recent PR's, best pictures, and brief biographical info.

Race Results

Washington D.C: Colin McGrath returned to his former stomping grounds and raced the DC Road Runners Track Championships. His self-reported finishing time was 4:30... something. The official results must have washed away, as this occurred during Saturday night's "puddles on the track" level rain storm. No matter the time, Colin's effort was worth third place and a $100 payout. Nice job!

Results
Colin McGrath: 4:30.. something (3rd)

Harrisburg, PA: Evan Megoulas represented PRTC at this year's Harrisburg Mile. The race, run along the Susquehanna River on Front Street attracted over 500 participants this year. Evan ran 5:54 which was good for 94th place and 7th in his age group of 20-24. Great work, Evan!

Philadelphia, PA: The West Philly Runners borrowed Chris Mateer for the weekend. He sat in with the group for The WPR 26x1 Mile Marathon Relay at Woodlands Cemetery. Race profits benefited the privately owned historic cemetery. Chris helped his team to first place by running three legs of the marathon relay. All under 5 minutes! This won the group a new course record of 2:33!

Meanwhile, Breandan Lyman repped Yard's Brewing Co. He turned in a consistent performance of 5:14 and 5:15 for his two legs. Full team results are not yet in, but we bet Breandan helped Yard's score. One can only hope he was fairly compensated with beer.

Results
Chris Mateer: 4:49; 4:51; 4:48 (1st place team)
Breandan Lyman: 5:14; 5:15

Results will be updated here.

Lake Placid, NY: And in an entirely different world, Susie Cirilli completed an Ironman. Her location of choice was Lake Placid: two-time host of the winter Olympics. It's hard to wrap the mind around an endurance race of this magnitude. So, setting aside the enormous training obligation to prepare for such a race, here is a description from the host:

"Athletes begin with a two-loop (2.4 mile) swim in clear Mirror Lake, with the famous sight line at the bottom of the lake to guide them. Transitioning in the Olympic Speed Skating Oval to the bike, the rolling mountain views provide a scenic backdrop to the ride. Two loops of 56 miles bring competitors back to the Oval once again, where they begin their 26.2-mile run through the town and around the lake."

View Susie's splits and overall result below. Congrats!

Swim: 1:02.39
Transition 1: 5:15
Bike: 6:25:57
Transition 2: 3:57
Run: 4:07:32
Overall: 11:46:20

Results
Susie Cirilli: 11:46:20 (253 overall; 8th division; 41st female)
