PRTC Weekly: 01/14/2019 (Membership Renewals, USA's, and More

Membership Renewals

Registration for PRTC's 19th year is now open!

Several changes are in order for 2019. Most notably, we will be implementing time standards for each of our tiers. We're also extending our list of race discounts/entries. Lastly, we're set to enjoy even more support from our generous sponsors Philadelphia Runner and Diadora.

Regarding dues, PRTC's board made the difficult decision to raise the annual fee to $100 (including $30 to USATF). This number will bring us in line with dues set by our peers across the country. It will also allow us to position our club for continued success over the coming year.

We're very confident that the value of PRTC in 2019 will far exceed our new due amount. We plan to provide more support than ever before while keeping our current race entries, sponsorship programs, Franklin Field access, Slack Channels, and Weekly Email subscriptions intact.

We're excited to be a part of everyone's running goals in 2019 and hopeful all our members (nearly 85 now!) renew. Please let us know if the new club due is too high for your current circumstances. Our goal is to grow resources and support for all of our all members. Alternative arrangements will be made available to anyone who has a need.

Each tier will receive an email outlining details of the new contracts and a sign up link. Let us know if you fail to receive a message from us by the end of today.

As always, we're happy to listen to any and all ideas on ways to improve our club structure and programs. We sincerely appreciate everyone's continued involvement!

Race Results

New York, NY: Chris Hatler kicked off his 2019 season by traveling to NYC to race 1,000 meters. His visit to The Armory for Thursday Night at the Races proved very successful. Chris placed 2nd overall with 2:24.54. The time was quick enough to qualify him for USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships!

Hatler also earned his first club record with the effort. His time replaces a 2005 mark set by Mike LoSapio at Haverford in 2005. With the season still early, expect Chris to challenge for additional records. Indoor Championships will be held at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island on February 23rd. Congrats, Chris!
