Return of the Mid-Atlantic Grand Prix

This 5k is a good follow up to the Philly 10k and quite important for the Grand Prix. There will be cash awards for the top three finishers and top masters. PRTC currently trails Greater Philadelphia Track Club and a few others in the challenge. Race Results
Philadelphia, PA: This year's running of the Philly 10k may have been the best yet. The sold-out race was held in outstanding weather, featured strong neighborhood support, and flawless execution.
PRTC again dominated the start line (and finish) as the team showed up in full force to run the streets of South Philly. Neon Diadora racers and white singlets helped the club stand out as this showcase event for Philadelphia Runner and Diadora hosted several thousand runners.
The men's team claimed 8 of the top ten spots. Dylan Gearinger led the way as he engaged in a tough battle against eventual winner Zachary Barker. His second place finish was followed up by an all-star performance by Steve Hallman who logged a 40 second PR. Other highlights included a handfull of PRTC debuts and our ever-growing roster of talented runners.
PRTC's women featured a 17 member strong lineup. Liz Barrett captured the first result for the team in her 4th place finish. She was closely followed by Kinjal (Dargan!), Irene, and Alana who all placed top 10. Alana, Jess, Megan, Sophia, and Arianna recorded PR's on the day. Congrats to all who ran!
Post-race the team enjoyed Federal Donut's infused custard from Shake Shack, beers from Philadelphia Brewing Co, great live music, and an overall fun atmosphere. The team took some down time and then spent Sunday afternoon with Max Krall at his medical school fraternity house. Here great views of the Philadlephia skyline were enjoyed on his rooftop while beer poured freely from the basement tap room.

Philadelphia, PA: Two PRTC athletes returned to Fairmount Park for more Plateau fun at the Belmont Hall of Fame Classic. Paul Matuszak and Jesús Muniz took on the 5k course where they both ran strong times. Paul came ever closer to his elusive goal of scoring a sub 16 minute record on the course as he claimed the overall win. Jesús took nearly a minute off his 5k time from Mayor's Cup showing greatly improved racing fitness. His 19:32 earned 14th overall. He also rallied to support the team at the Philly 10k on Sunday where he took some excellent photos. Nice work!
