Election Week & Mayor's Cup
Hi All - apologies for the late newsletter!
Including some highlights from the last few weeks of racing in this one and two quick notes.
1) It's election week for PRTC! We're set to formally elect the 2019-2020 board. We also have a survey out to the club. Looking to collect data on what we're doing right as well as find ways to improve. The election and survey are open until this Sunday at midnight. Every response helps! Please reply to this email if you are a member and did not receive a link to participate.
2) Mayor's Cup is this Saturday! We have 36 entrants and will face off against 32 clubs. Going for our 4th title with what will be our largest roster ever. The event is great for spectators and has a very fun atmosphere. Weather is looking nice so we're looking forward to having much of the team there.
Mike Vido is coordinating our tailgate this year. Please check our social channel on Slack for details on ways to contribute. We will have a tent (thanks Philadelphia Runner!), plenty of beer, and food to enjoy. See you Saturday!
Race Results
Des Moine, IA: Chris Hatler traveled to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where he repped PRTC at USATF Outdoor Track Championships! He qualified for the 1500m during a great season. Chris was among the leaders in the field for 3 laps. He fought hard on the 4th lap, but fell a bit short of his high goal of qualifying for finals. All the same, he logged another very fast time in a season that saw a mile PR and many good races. Great work! We're excited for this fall and 2020!

Lima, Peru: Sam Roecker ran under the team USA banner for the first time at the Pan American Games! She followed up her incredible performance at CIM with a 2:32:49 on the international stage. This allowed her to place 5th and just two minutes behind the winner. Congrats Sam! What an experience. We're all very proud.

Wynnewood, PA: The Mid-Summer Night 5k Series had their make up date for their cancelled race two of three. PRTC had 8 participants and several spectators come out for the occasion. The team claimed 1st in both the men and women's categories with fast times across the board. Congrats to all who raced!

Wyomissing, PA: Meredith Unger celebrated Christmas a bit early at the Jingle in July 5k. She ran
a 20:44 at the trail race which featured a scenic (but slow) course. She enjoyed the shade in the trails as she ran her way to the overall win by just over one minute. Nice job!

Philadelphia, PA: PRTC teamed up with Issa Run Crew for another round of unofficial summer racing. This time it was Philadelphia Squared, a run that crossed various famous squares across the city in make it up as you go style. No times for this one, but here is the finishing list. Congrats to Christine and Simon who each won $100 in $1's for winning the race!
