PRTC Weekly: 02/25/2019 (Frostbite, Adrenaline 5k Deadline, and More)

Race Results

Ambler, PA: PRTC kicked off the 2019 USATF Mid-Atlantic Grand Prix series with the Frostbite 5 Miler. Conditions were favorable resulting in quick times on the rolling course.

Paul Matuszak set a fast pace from the start. He went toe to toe with eventual winner Landon Peacock for the duration of the race. This helped propel him to a strong sub 25 minute result. Josh Hibbs followed for 3rd chased by both Sean Clark and Chris Mullin. Chris Mateer, recovering from a stomach bug, was next in. He crossed the finish line in 8th. Alex Predhome and Kevin Brandon rounded out the top ten with 9th and 10th. David Choi claimed 13th and a sub 27 minute time. Ethan Rissell arrived in 15th just a second over 27. Jeff Young and Pat McLaughlin followed for 17th and 19th. Joe Foley and Evan Skalski both made their PRTC debuts. They placed 27th and 55th. Welcome aboard guys!

In the women's field, Meghan Bishop returned to familiar roads having grown up in the Ambler area. She claimed first with her 28:44 finish besting Furthur Training's Stephanie Knast by a few seconds. Kaitlin Frei followed for 4th. Caroline Dorey-Stein recorded 10th. Newcomer Christine Foley made her PRTC debut (alongside husband Joe) as the pair recently welcomed a child. She aims to race Boston this spring.

These results position us to take an early lead in the Grand-Prix series. Thanks to all who came out and great racing!

New York, NY: Dylan Gearinger recorded his first appearance at USATF Indoor Nationals. He earned a spot in this elite meet after running a sub 8 minute 3k earlier this season. Dylan faced off against a very competitive 2 mile field. He ran well recording an 8:52. Dylan reports he had bigger plans for the race, but it was a valuable experience all the same. He now looks to take his talents outdoors as he looks toward new PR's.
