PRTC Weekly: 1/27/20 (We Back and more)
You're not Kevin?
So Kevin is really busy, got engaged, and then got the flu. He's handed the newsletter over to me for the foreseeable future. We'll see how soon he regrets that.
A feature I'm bringing back is beer I'm drinking while I write this and what album is carrying the late night writing sessions. So:
Beer of the week: Winter Haze from Dock St Brewing
Album getting me through this thing this week: Diaspora by Goldlink
Race Results
In a huge relief to all, we have only track this week. No unsanctioned 10k's, no marathons in Europe or a midwestern city, and not even a Grand Prix this week. Just spikes and track hack.
The Big Apple: Chris Hatler is back north and apparently he's fit as hell. Hatler went toe-to-toe against a world class field and emerged with a 3rd place finish, within striking distance of former D1 National Champion Justyn Knight. Keep your eyes peeled and ready for him back in the Big Apple at the Millrose Games February 8th.

Staten Island (x2): In two separate races, the young blood of PRTC continued to strut their stuff at the Ocean Breeze Complex.
Maria Seykora smashed the competition with a 4:52 mile at Miles Mania. Not to be outdone, Greg Morgan doubled his fun 24 hours later with a mile/3k double, taking first in the 3k and second in the mile. Both are eyeing down PR's as the season heats up.

Ursinus/Collegeville: If you are a fan of not only quality, but also quantity too, the 2020 Collegeville Classic was the place to be this week. PRTC flooded the results with not one, not two, but three crowns. Abby Cember took the W in the women's mile, showing she's more than Alex Predhome's #1 trail nemesis. Elaine Estes won the women's 5k in a time that appeared to have nearly lapped the field. Dylan Gearinger juggled pacing and winning to dunk all over the men's 5k. Ethan Hermann finished a hair shy of first in the men's 3k, but with a substantial PR to cuddle up with, we all know he slept well that night.
