PRTC Bi-Weekly 9/26/2022: PDR Recap
Race Results
Philadelphia Distance Run
The Philadelphia Distance Run (PDR) was contested on September 19th under warm and muggy conditions, starting and finishing on the parkway we all know and love.
5k
The 5k kicked off the day, with Declan Walkush setting the pace for the men with a 2nd place finish, only behind a member of the Chinese national team in 15:26. Rounding out the top 10 for the men was Chris Mateer in 15:58 for 4th and Jenia Vinogradskiy in 17:01 for 6th.
For the women, Becca Nichols led the way with a 19:34 for 9th and was closely followed by Sarah Moxham, who ran 20:05 for 10th place. Cynthia Cuiule rounded out the strong showing by the women's team, snagging 13th with a 20:25.
Half Marathon
After the 5k warmed the crowed up, the marque event of the day, the half marathon, kicked off at 7:28am (2 minutes early, I know because I missed the start...)
The PRTC women came out with a dominant showing, led by Rosie Mascoli, who set a PR on the warm morning to finishing 17th overall in 78:21. The PRTC women packed in an astounding 9 of the next 12 spots, in the following order: Ellen Feringa (79:12, 18th), Lauren Kelly (79:41, 79:41), Olivia DeRogatis (80:00, 21st), Elaine Estes (80:35, 22nd), Stephanie Benko (80:34, 23rd), Claire Hewitt (81:02, 24th), Jess Smith (81:47, 25th), Stephanie Fulmer (81:48, 27th), and Cassidy Nagle (83:09. 30th). For those not counting, that's 10 in the top 30. Congrats ladies! It's looking like we're gonna have a heck of marathon season.
The remaining PRTCer's in the race were Emily Molitoris (87:17, 41st), Natalie Lutz (86:36, 42nd), Rachael Wittmer (89:23, 47th), Kate Courtin (91:34, 62nd), Emily Lawson (95:10, 75th), Gina Hostetler (92:39, 77th), Katie Pokorny (96:13, 83rd), Kyra Shreeve (98:18, 91st), and Kaitlyn Ward (97:09, 100th).
For the men, the top finisher was Zach Michon who crossed the line in 69:27 while covering pacing duties for the lead pack of women. He was closely followed by a duo on newcomers to the club as Noah Falasco followed up his great race at the Philly 10k with a 69:31 for 23rd and was closely followed by Connor Harriman in 69:33 for 24th.
Rounding out the men was Seth Kampf (72:22, 28th), David Cai (75:42, 48th), Travis Leadbetter (77:10, 54th), Tom Thomas (77:39, 55th), Ryan Ritter (77:04, 60th), Kevin Dugan (82:44, 81st), Andy Potocek (82:00, 83rd), Matt Bruner (82:04, 84th), Cody Amengual (83:01, 95th), Jason Norat (85:02, 105th), and Doug Edwards (94:31, 181st).

Berlin Marathon
Kicking off marathon major fall season, a crew of club member crossed the Atlantic to get dusted by Kipchoge in Berlin.
Leading the way for PRTC was Matt Ferry, who ran 2:36:05 for a huge PR after overcoming.a fractured toe and COVID during his marathon build up.
Also laying down a fantastic race and PR was Colin Bodels in 2:51:34. In case you need a reminder to keep chasing PR's as you age...Colin is now in his 50's!!

5th Ave Mile
3 PRTC members took to the streets of New York for a much shorter type of road race.
Maria Seykora walked away with a shiny new club record for the road mile, running a huge 4:53. Also racing for the women was Stephanie Benko (who came back a week later with a great half at PDR, these results are not in chronological order), running 5:01.
For the men, Corey Mullins made his club debut with a 4:26.

Erie Marathon
Club Community Director, Sarah Tampio, crushed a 3:21:54 to nail a Boston qualifying time at the Erie Marathon.

Queen of Prussia 10k
Newly elected club Development Director Stephanie Ng took a close second to PRTC Alum Hayley Germack at the Queen Of Prussia 10k, finishing in 37:15.

Ironman Maryland
Steve Hallman made his Ironman debut, finishing in 10:35:40 for 100th in the men's field. He split 71:56 for the swim, 5:19:52 for the bike, and 3:49:42 for the run.
Club friend, Chris Naimoli also completed the event, placing 6th in the men's field, with splits of 65:34 for the swim, 4:32:43 for the bike, and 3:18:29 for the run.

York White Rose Run
Zoe Matherne took the win the the always competitive York White Rose 5 Miler, finishing in 29:27.

Cow Harbor 10k
Speaking of competitive fields, James Dickinson competed in the Cow Harbor 10k, which served as the USATF 10k Road Championship, where he took 27th in the men's field on the undulating course in 32:07.

Main Line Invite
Frank Livosi made his club debut at the 4 mile Main Line Invite, taking 13th overall in the field that featured a strong field of local colleges, including Penn and Villanova.

Citizen Bank Park Spartan Race
Eric Anderson took 9th overall in 40:24 for the Spartan Stadion 5k at Citizen's Bank Park.

Mayor's Day 5k
Declan Walkush and Stephanie Ng took 1-2 overall at the Mayor's Day 5k in Union, NJ, finishing in 16:24 and 18:26, respectively.

Maria Seykora followed up her club record mile with a 17:27 road 5k at the Run for HER 5k in West Chester, PA.

Phil Celona won the definitely accurate Parkway 5k in 13:37.

[One newsletter late!]Rockaway Beach End of Summer 5k
Erik Reitinger continued his hunt for a sub-16 with a 16:08 win at the Rockaway Beach 5k. The race featured two 180 turns and a kid blitzing the first mile in a 4:40...so might not have been optimal!
